Munro Vehicles, the trading name of All Terrain All Electric, has followed up its launch of the Munro MK_1 Truck with the MK_1 Pick-Up.

As with the MK_1 Truck, the pick up version uses an electric full-time mechanical 4x4 drivetrain. Using a 100 kW charger, the 82.4 kWh battery pack can be recharged from 15 to 80% in 36 minutes. This delivers about 190 miles of range, or up to 16 hours of off-road operation.

The battery pack is comprised of 35 li-ion modules in three heavy-duty aluminium boxes. These are mounted under the body-on-frame vehicle. The design is intended to support ease of replacement, should that be necessary.

An integrated heat pump-based thermal management system is used to maintain optimum pack conditions. The packs are guaranteed to deliver at least 80% of capacity over eight years or 100,000 miles.

The full vehicles are marketed with a five-year, 100,000-mile warranty. Maintaining the ‘right to repair’, owners working on the vehicles will not invalidate the warranty. Otherwise, work can be carried out at a local agent or onsite maintenance is offered via the company’s service fleet.

The company has said that it will recondition or replace battery packs when they show signs of degrading. This is intended to support residual vehicle values.

The second model from Munro features a 220 kW electric motor. A power output of 280 kW (375 PS) and 700 Nm of torque can propel the vehicle from 0 to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds.

Both light commercial models have been developed to support operations across business sectors which invariably involve negotiating challenging terrain, including mining, construction, utilities, agriculture and defence.

The rear bed of the MK_1 Pick-Up can accommodate a euro pallet payload of up to 1050 kg. The Performance variant has a maximum braked towing capacity of 3500 kg.

The four-door crew cab design features three second-row seats, allowing a maximum passenger occupancy of five.

The MK_1 Pick-Up is now available to order. Production at the East Kilbride location, near Glasgow, Scotland, is expected to start later this year. The company is planning to move to a purpose-built factory in central Scotland in 2024, which should support annual production of 2700 units.
