Repowered ASV RT-50 track loader now has Yanmar engine
15 August 2022

Compact track loader and skid-steer supplier ASV Holdings Inc. has repowered its RT-50 Posi-Track loader with a 53.8-hp Yanmar 3TN three-cylinder, turbocharged, Tier 4 Final diesel engine delivering a full 8% more power than the previous model.
The added power helps the maneuverable 58.5-in. wide loader to achieve a 1400-lb. rated operating capacity and 9.1-ft. lift height while weighing in at just 5180 lb. The Yanmar engine can be serviced at ASV dealers for greater convenience.
High tractive effort and enhanced pushing power in the RT-50 are achieved via the ASV Posi-Power System. The open-rail and internal positive drive sprocket undercarriage includes two independent torsion axles per undercarriage, two hydrostatic direct drive sprockets controlled with a single joystick and an elevated track drive sprocket with low-friction, individually replaceable sprocket rollers. A high number of ground contact points spread the machine’s weight evenly, enabling a ground pressure of only 3.0 psi.
Variable auxiliary hydraulic flow is standard on the repowered machine. Powered by 13.3-gpm of pump capacity and 3000 psi of system pressure, the loader can operate efficiently at a high auxiliary circuit flow rate, ASV said. A direct drive pump along with the machine’s large line sizes and hydraulic coolers direct added flow and pressure to the attachment to help prevent power loss. For attachment versatility, the loader comes with a standard quick attach or optional hydraulic quick attach.

Other enhancements include a 4.3-in. color display and standard hydraulic joystick controls that place full command of the machine at the operator’s fingertips. In addition, a new drive transmission allows for more precise power and fine-tuned operation.
To ease servicing the machine, a rear-tilting hood offers ready access to maintenance points, including filters, oil and fuel tank reservoirs, hydraulic and water separator drains and the battery. Durability is designed into the machine with a heavy-duty frame, drive table and axles; new wiring harness and hose routings; and metal-face seals on the front and back of the drive hubs. An optional bumper or bumper and limb riser can be added for more hood protection in tough applications.
