Unico launches 330-kW bidirectional grid-tie inverter
20 October 2026
Unico, a provider of advanced power conversion technologies, has announced the launch of its new 330-kW bidirectional Grid-Tie Inverter (GTI). Designed and manufactured in the U.S., the compact, scalable power conversion platform debuted at The Battery Show 2026 in Detroit, Mich., last week.
The GTI was developed to enable energy systems to move power efficiently between DC resources and AC infrastructure, while giving operators flexibility to accommodate different voltages and expand power capacity as needs grow.
“As organizations invest in next-generation infrastructure, determining how much power a system will require years from now can be challenging,” said Mike Canada, CEO of Unico. “Our Grid-Tie Inverter solves that problem, delivering unmatched flexibility so businesses can ‘future proof’ their operations.”
The compact, rack-mounted unit is designed to support solar generation, energy storage or emerging high-power loads. It operates at 98.5% efficiency and has a power density of 72W per cubic inch. Flexible architecture supports AC voltages from 380 to 900 VAC and features a programmable DC voltage range from 600 to 1,500 VDC, enabling the same platform to address a range of system configurations.
Delivering up to 330 kW at 900 VAC, the GTI can be deployed as a single unit for C&I applications or can support parallel operation in groups of 10 or more to deliver system power levels exceeding 3.3 MW.
“With the explosion of data centers, increase in alternative power generation and expansion of battery storage across industries, bidirectional capability at 1,500 VDC is increasingly required but remains underserved at the C&I scale by U.S.-manufactured products,” said Canada. “Unico’s GTI addresses this genuine gap in the U.S. inverter market and can be used across a wide variety of applications both today and for years to come.”
