Bobcat expands rotary telehandler range

Bobcat has added 13 new models to its range of rotary telehandlers for the European, Middle East and African markets.

The nine European models, all equipped with Stage V engines, offer lifting heights ranging from 18 to 39m and lifting capacities ranging from 5 to 8 tonnes.

Four models designed for the Middle East and African markets comprise Stage IIIA compliant machines in the 18 to 26m range with lifting capacities ranging from 5 to 6 tonnes.

The 18 to 26m are powered by a Deutz engine, with the higher lift models from 27 to 39m powered by Volvo engines. Bobcat said the same engine manufacturers are common to both the Stage IIIA and Stage V models, allowing “easier maintenance and training.”

All models are equipped with a patented panoramic cab, which Bobcat said offers “the best visibility on the market and a wide range of features.”

Features of the cab include a fully enclosed and pressurised environment, ROPS (Roll-Over Protective Structures) certification, easily adjustable steering column and a fully adjustable seat.

Meanwhile, a dashboard with a seven or 12 inch display offers the operator a choice of three different views: classic real-time load chart; a new boom dynamic load chart – showing only the area in which the operator can move safely with a load - and a 360° view from above.

Other features include an LED light behind the operator’s seat and under the left armrest, a new button on the joystick for aligning the turret with the access ladders and the addition of one ladder (at the rear, right-hand side) which is said to be useful for service operations on the back of the boom.

The launch of the range means that Bobcat now offers lifting heights from 18m to 32m and allows it to “cover a fifth segment with 27, 35 and 39m rotary telehandlers with a heavier lift capacity of up to 8 tonne.”
