After almost three and a half years, the world’s largest trade event, Bauma, is set to return to Munich in Germany this October.

As always, innovation and the latest product launches will feature heavily, and in the months leading up to the show, construction equipment manufacturers have revealed some of what we can expect to see.

With that in mind, International Construction takes a look at five new machines to look out for at Bauma 2022.

On show for the first time ever will be the latest impact crusher from Kleemann, the Mobirex MR 130(i) Pro.

The all-electric drive concept has a range of natural stone and recycling operations and has the option to be powered by an external power supply.

The machine is used as a primary and secondary crusher and includes a heavy rotor, electric 250 kW drive as well as a continuous feed system.

Kleeman, which will also be showcasing nine mobile and crushing screening plants, say that the Mobirex MR 130(i) Pro “guarantees low energy consumption per ton of final product.”

Zoomlion confirmed earlier this month that it will use the show to display its ZT58J Ultra 58.8m working height telescopic boom.

The diesel powered machine has a dual platform capacity of 300 kg unrestricted and 454 kg restricted and four-wheel-drive unit.

Alongside the boom, China-based Zoomlion will also exhibit three new MEWPS at the show.

Caterpillar MH3024 material handler

Despite taking the decision not to attend this year’s event due to a shift in marketing strategy, visitors will still be able to see Cat equipment, which will be exhibited by its dealer Zeppelin.

A range of electric equipment currently in development from the manufacturer will be available to view, with the company claiming visitors will be able to see a glimpse of the future of Cat equipment.

Part of the electric range from Cat will be the modified tethered electric Cat MH3024 material handler, a machine that has been built for use in industrial and recycling applications.

Hitachi ZX400MC-7 excavator

Hitachi are set to unveil the ZX400MC-7 excavator, part of its 40 tonne range of medium weight class for the first time.

The machine comes with Zaxis-technology and a Stage V compliant engine and is said to have been built to save customers time and money.

In fact, the company say that the versatility of the excavator means it is able to carry out the jobs of many machines if the four attachments that come as standard are used.

Liebherr Betomix mixing plant

Liebherr will be showing a range of products at Bauma, including new concrete equipment such as a new edition of a Betomix mixing plant. The new plant will be available from 2023 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland with other countries to follow.

Liebherr says that the new Betomix and Mobilmix mixing plant series can be flexibly combined using prefabricated modules and replace several predecessor series. This can lead to more freedom when configuring the plants, shorter delivery times, faster assembly and increased parts availability. Improvements to the drive also reduce current consumption by up to 30% and increase weighing accuracy, so that up to 7.5kg of cement can be saved per cubic metre of concrete.

The new concept is based on a consistently implemented modular design. Individual modules can be planned and manufactured independently of each other and combined with other modules. They are almost completely wired and fully assembled at Liebherr. After testing, the modules are delivered as complete transport units to the construction site.

Bauma takes place from the 24th to the 30th of October. For a review of what visitors can expect, read the Bauma preview by KHL writer Lucy Barnard.
