Bramble Energy, a company working on development of hydrogen fuel cell technologies, has opened a new headquarters facility located in Crawley, UK (about an hour south of London).

The 34,000 square foot (3150 square metres) facility is three times larger than the previous HQ.

The focal point of the new space is the Hydrogen Innovation Hub, a research, development and testing area dedicated to work on hydrogen fuel cells, electrolysers and related sensor tech.

In addition to R&D, the new facility will allow scaling up of successful developments to where they are production ready.

Products range from fuel cells delivering single-watt energy levels through to multiple-kilowatt sizes intended for heavy-duty mobility and power solutions.

Dr Tom Mason, Bramble Energy co-founder and CEO, commented: “Our world-leading Hydrogen Innovation Hub at Atrium Court will significantly contribute to levelling up the UK’s hydrogen and fuel cell testing capability. It will play a crucial role in our future development as we revolutionise the shift towards cleaner and sustainable energy solutions.”

Bramble Energy has already delivered what is billed as the world’s first printed circuit board hydrogen fuel cell (PCBFC) stack. Using a design which features the PCB-X platform, the patented tech supports rapid turnaround of bespoke fuel cell designs at a significantly lower cost than standard electrochemical fuel cells.
