Delta Systems, which designs and manufactures switches and electronic components for the outdoor power equipment, off-highway and power sports markets, is presenting prototypes spanning configurable displays, machine monitoring, operator alerts, battery charging and device connectivity at Equip Exposition, taking place this week in Louisville, Ky. The company said the lineup reflects several areas of ongoing development for OEMs seeking to integrate new functionality into their equipment.
Among the five prototype solutions on display is a fully configurable, 7-in. touchscreen human-machine interface (HMI) display, which is expected to be available for OEM applications in early 2027. Built on a Linux-based operating system, the new digital dashboard is designed to enable OEMs to tailor the interface to the needs of specific vehicle platforms, applications and operator requirements. Using open-source development tools, including Qt and EGT, OEMs can customize menus, screens and functionality to align the HMI with the requirements of their equipment and end users.
The configurable architecture is designed to support a range of equipment applications, including outdoor power equipment, construction equipment, powersports, and more. The automotive-inspired interface also displays vehicle speed, fuel level or state of charge, diagnostic codes and other functions.

Also featured is a Charge System Controller designed to charge lithium batteries and support engine control functions in gas-electric hybrid vehicles and equipment. It provides continuous DC charging for lithium battery systems operating within a 60-120 VDC range while the internal combustion engine is running. Integrated relay outputs also support key functions, including engine power control, starter activation and ignition shutdown.
The controller features IP67A sealing to help protect against dust and water exposure. It can support a range of equipment applications from outdoor power equipment to construction, agriculture and material handling.
Other prototypes on display include a diagnostic plunger switch for tamper-resistant position monitoring for machine safety systems; a ROPS & Seatbelt Alert Module; and a rugged USB charging solution for mobile devices used while operating equipment.
