AxleTech International said it produced its first axle from the company’s new 45,000 sq.ft. dedicated manufacturing facility in Pune, India.

The new manufacturing site utilizes an extensive network of local components suppliers, the company said. According to AxleTech, the facility is scaled to meet growing customer demand, with opportunities for future product line expansion. The company said the plant will supply planetary axles for commercial off-highway applications in material handling, construction and transportation as well as vehicles for the defense sector.

The Pune, India plant is expected to be fully operational early this year. AxleTech also has operating facilities in the United States, Brazil, France and China.
