Kohler Expands KD Series Gen-Set Line

Kohler has announced the expansion of its KD Series of large industrial diesel generator sets with the rollout of several new units ranging up to 3250 kW (3500kVA).
The KD Series gen-sets initially debuted last October, when Kohler and Kohler-SDMO said the new range, powered by engines developed in partnership with Liebherr, would eventually grow to encompass generators as large as 4000 kW at 60 Hz and 4200 kVA at 50Hz,

The newest KD Series diesel industrial generators are powered by two new compact and powerful Kohler V16 diesels. The KD36V16 is a 16-cylinder, 36 L engine that will power the 60 Hz KD1250 and KD1350 as well as the 50 Hz KD1250, KD1400 and KD1500.
The 83 L KD83V16 diesel is a 16-cylinder engine that will drive the 60 Hz KD2800, KD3000 and KD3250, along with the 50 Hz KD3100, KD3300 and KD3500.
