New Battery Licensing Deal Announced

Advanced Battery Concepts, Clare, Mich., said it has agreed to license its GreenSeal technology to Exide Industries Ltd.  Advanced Battery Concepts said its GreenSeal technology is designed to simplify lead battery manufacturing and improves lead battery performance by increasing cycle life, lowering weight, reducing recharge time, improving reliability and is recyclable.

The company said the improvements are achieved through reduction of lead-metal content by an average of 46% and more efficient working of the active materials through a patented design. 

Advanced Battery Concepts said Exide Industries is its fourth licensee, joining Johnson Controls Power Solutions, Trojan Battery Company, and another, apparently unnamed, global battery manufacturer.  The company said it is currently in licensing discussions with several other global lead battery producers and expects to have further announcements in 2018.
