Peterbilt said it has delivered its Model 579EV truck to Werner Enterprises for Werner’s battery electric-powered truck pilot program. Funding for the tractor was provided through the California Air Resource Board (CARB) California Climate Investments (CCI) program, along with the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD).
Werner said the truck will operate with a dedicated customer in southern California over the next year. Interestingly, Peterbilt also said pricing and option availability for 579EVs will be available on the Peterbilt’s SmartSpec sales tool in the second half of 2020.
