Iveco Bus delivers first gas-fuel bus chassis in Argentina
01 September 2025

Iveco Bus has delivered the first 20 units of its natural gas chassis in Argentina. The BUS 17-210G chassis were handed over to Metropol and will be used in the Buenos Aires transit area.
“The integration of gas buses into the public transport network not only promotes the energy transition but also demonstrates our commitment to innovation and sustainable development, essential pillars for the development of cleaner and more efficient cities,” said Marcio Querichelli, Iveco Bus head of Bus Commercial Operations in Latin America.
The BUS 17-210 G chassis, which is manufactured at the Iveco Bus plant in Córdoba, Argentina, is equipped with a GNC FPT N60 engine. With nine 80-liter tanks the model has a range of up to 350 km, supporting long-distance routes within the metropolitan area.
This project was supported by Overbus, the official Iveco Bus dealer in Argentina, and also Italbus, the local bodybuilder specializing in urban and interurban buses.
The vehicles will operate on the 504 and 507 lines in the municipality of Escobar. This will be the first lines to feature buses only powered by natural gas.
Metropol is a leading public transport operator in Argentina. Over 27 lines, vehicles cover about 120 million km per year transporting over 230 million passengers around the Buenos Aires metropolitan area.
