CNH India has started production at its new engine plant in Greater Noida, New Delhi. The first engine off the line will be the 2.8-litre Trem V (also known as F28).

The new engine plant has a 7,000 square metre assembly floor. Annual capacity is about 20,000 units.

According to CNH, the factory features digital and AI-driven tech, including operator guidance systems and automated component cleaning to ensure a high-quality end product.

Narinder Mittal, president and MD, CNH India, said: “The launch of the 2.8-litre Trem V engine from the state-of-the-art Noida engine plant underscores our dedication to delivering solutions engineered and manufactured in India. This achievement both enhances our product offerings and reaffirms CNH’s commitment to innovation and sustainable productivity.”

Licensed to CNH by FPT Industrial, the engines will help to localise machines production, while offering improved performance and efficiency.

Additionally, the Trem V will deliver improved engine balance and reduced vibration, while reduced friction will reduce fuel consumption.

Engines produced in India will be used in construction machinery. They will later feature in agricultural machines when emissions standards are confirmed.

CNH India has been operational for more than 25 years. The company operates across the region through its Case IH, New Holland and Case Construction Equipment brands.
