Partnership fosters U.S. electric construction equipment adoption
03 October 2023
Ascendum Machinery, a Charlotte, N.C.-based construction equipment distributor and service provider, is partnering with Portable Electric to offer Voltstack portable and mobile electric construction equipment chargers (e-Chargers) and power stations (e-Generators) to its customers, with an initial focus on the U.S. market.
Ascendum Machinery is one of the country’s largest Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) dealers and has represented the company for over 65 years. Portable Electric (PE) delivers scalable electric equipment charging and energy storage solutions through its Voltstack silent, emissions-free, off-grid power systems and e-Chargers.
Voltstack e-Chargers can replace traditional generators or be hybridized with a fossil-fuel generator using the Smart Hybrid feature, which allows it to activate or deactivate a diesel generator based on the e-Charger’s state of charge. This results in a more intelligent and quieter jobsite environment while reducing fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
The ability to integrate Voltstack mobile electric construction equipment chargers with Volvo CE’s portfolio of commercially available electric construction equipment will help to foster the adoption of electric construction equipment by empowering customers with solutions that enhance operational efficiency and sustainability, said Ascendum Machinery.
“Volvo CE’s pioneering electric equipment offerings are reshaping construction norms, and our integration of Voltstack mobile e-Chargers reaffirms our dedication to supporting our clients,” Grant Adams, CEO of Ascendum Machinery, stated. “These chargers seamlessly align with Volvo’s electric equipment, optimizing productivity and performance.”
Portable Electric previously announced a partnership with Volvo CE to enable all 245 of its North American dealers to offer customers the opportunity to bundle the Voltstack 30k Level 2 e-Charger with the purchase of Volvo electric equipment. Portable Electric’s collaboration with Ascendum Machinery is “yet another pivotal milestone” in accelerating the industry’s transition toward electric construction machinery, said Keith Marett, CEO of Portable Electric.
“In addition, it sets a powerful example for other Volvo dealers, urging them to embrace electric construction equipment and forward-looking equipment solutions that redefine industry norms,” he continued. “Together, we’re propelling the industry into a future of efficiency and sustainability.”
