All-new Mack regional haul truck launched
26 June 2025
Mack Trucks has launched the all-new Mack Anthem, a completely redesigned truck built for regional haul applications. The vehicle incorporates many of the technologies and design principles of the recently introduced Pioneer long haul model, with a light weight that makes it a prime target for weight-conscious customers and industries, such as bulk haulers, dry bulk operations, food and beverage distribution, general freight operations and less-than-truckload services.

“This is not a facelift or a refresh,” said Fernando Couceiro, vice president of highway trucks at Mack Trucks. “This is a brand-new truck from the ground up. We’ve reimagined what a regional haul truck can be, focusing on the features that directly impact our customers’ bottom line.”
According to the company, the new Anthem delivers up to 10% improvement in fuel efficiency compared with the previous model. Engine options include the Mack MP13 available in eight power profiles and the MP13HE available in four power profiles, both rated from 415 to 515 hp and 1,550 to 1,900 lb.-ft. torque. Transmission options include the mDRIVE and mDRIVE HD automated manual transmissions.
A key differentiator, said Mack, is the Anthem’s enhanced maneuverability, achieved through a shorter bumper-to-back-of-cab (BBC) length of 113.5 in., which makes the vehicle suited for navigating tight spaces and urban environments. The redesigned hood improves forward visibility, allowing drivers to see approximately 12 ft. closer to the front bumper compared with previous designs, reducing the risk of front-corner collisions.
The Anthem is offered in day cab, 44-in. sleeper and 64-in. sleeper configurations and features the same interior cab space as the Pioneer. The cab interior is completely redesigned and offers enhanced comfort with a cab that’s 9 in. wider than the previous model. New wide-base seats feature optional ventilation and heating and massage functions, while the stand-up sleeper options provide enough headroom for drivers to stand upright.

“From an interior perspective, the new Anthem and the Pioneer share the same dimensions, features and finishes, so our customers can enjoy the same outstanding comfort, no matter which model they choose,” said Vince Lokers, specialist chief designer at Mack Trucks, who designed the Anthem’s interior. “The only difference is that the Anthem won’t offer the big sleeper configuration available with the Pioneer.”
The new truck also has advanced safety features, including an optional digital mirror system to eliminate traditional blind spots, a standard front airbag and an Integrated Curtain Airbag (ICA) system. Additional integrated driver assistance systems have demonstrated a 43% reduction in near-miss incidents during controlled testing, the company stated.
The vehicle comes with Mack Connect, the company’s advanced telematics platform. The MyMack driver app allows drivers to pre-heat or cool their cab, check fluid levels and monitor tire pressures from their phones. Over-the-air programming enables overnight software updates without service appointments, while the predictive maintenance system has been shown to reduce unplanned stops by 20%. Integration with Mack’s GuardDog Connect automatically transmits service data to dealers.
The new Anthem will be available for order starting in August 2025, with production beginning in January 2026.
