Agricultural machine specialist Antonio Carraro will hold a series of new and upgraded product launches at the upcoming EIMA International trade show, to be held at Fiere Bologna, 6-10 November.

As part of this, the Italian company will unveil new versions of its Cento and R Series tractors which now feature the F28 engine from FPT Industrial, the engine division of the Iveco Group.

The F28 is a four-cylinder turbodiesel model which uses a common rail fuel injection system. The 8200 variants of the AC Cento range will offer the F28 with an output of 55 kW (74.8 hp). 11200 variants of the R Series will use a version of the engine which produces 75.6 kW (103 hp).

Looking at the second of these, the drivetrain in the 11200 variants marks the first time that AC has brought a model to market which produces more than 100 hp. The engine is fully compliant with Stage 5 emissions regulations.

Another tractor series which will be on display at EIMA is the A Series. With a range of six models, these offer customers a set of 48 different basic configurations.

Two models designed for use in orchards will be on display at the trade fair, the AF 2.100 N standard orchard and the AF 2.85 B low orchard. Both are powered by the same F28 engine, with the AF 2.100 N using the high-output version.

The AF N is available with or without a cab, while the AF B is designed with no cab to allow use in difficult locations.

Electric models

After the launch of its Life Atena project two years ago, Antonio Carraro is now moving forward with its plans for electrified models. With a series of partners, AC is planning to launch these technologies to reduce emissions and noise, while preventing loss of lubricants in the soil.

At EIMA 2024, AC will present the first product of the Life Atena project which will be available to the market.

The SRe is a full electric machine which carries on the known features of previous AC models, in that it is compact, isodiametric (two equal parts) and articulated. The model features two electric motors; the first (50 kW/68 hp) drives the fully redesigned four-speed mechanical transmission. The second motor (35 kW/48 hp) manages PTO and all other onboard peripherals.

Both motors are powered by a 400 V, 38 kWh battery pack which can be recharged from the mains or a charging station with Cat 2 connection.

The SRe is described as a ‘fully variable’ machine owing to the separate motors allowing independent power delivery to each function. The motor driving the transmission is said to deliver the same performance as a 100 hp tractor but without any environmental impact.

SRe can use conventional hardware and equipment designed for electric machines. It is fitted with a rear power lift with three-point Category 1 and 2 hitch, 540/540E PTO, proportional joystick for hydraulic equipment and power socket for electric equipment. Power output of 10 kW is delivered at 48 V.
