Daimler Trucks brings new FUSO, Mercedes-Benz solutions to Bauma

Daimler Truck announced that two of its brands, FUSO and Mercedes-Benz, will present a variety of truck models at Bauma 2025. Both brands will be in Hall B4 with stands next to one another.

FUSO Canter and eCanter

FUSO will be demonstrating its Canter internal combustion engine (ICE)-driven truck as well as its all-electric counterpart, the eCanter, in three different varieties for construction and landscaping customers to experience.

At its booth, FUSO will have on display the all-electric FUSO Next Generation eCanter 7C18e 7.49 t. The truck comes with an S-battery that provides a range of 70 km (43 miles). Other battery configurations for eCanter models can offer a range of up to 200 km (124 miles) on a single charge.

The eCanter 7C18e 7.49 t has a payload of around 3.6 metric tons, Daimler said. The truck’s Meiller Trigenius three-way tipper offers flexible and practical load securing with lashing lugs on the side panels (up to 2 metric tons tensile force) and floor level (up to 8 metric tons tensile force), the company said. The side tipper body is characterized by safe, convenient side wall operation. An LED light helps ensure safe operation on both sides. A mechanical power take-off (PTO) supplies the tipping hydraulics.

According to Daimler, the eCanter’s pendulum and fold-down side walls are easy to open and close manually because of a relief system with a spring mechanism. All side and rear wall locks have a standardized operating concept.

FUSO will also show a wallbox available in its portfolio as well as alternative low-cost AC charging solutions, such as the NRG Kick charging cable.

Also on display at the booth will be a diesel-powered 6.0-tonne Canter 6S15 truck with a Weha flatbed body and crane. This variant is particularly ideal for demanding transport tasks and heavy loads on narrow roads, Daimler said.

On the outdoor grounds, FUSO is presenting an 8.55 metric ton Canter 9C18 with a Palfinger roll-off tipper. This model has a nearly 6 metric ton chassis load capacity and a permissible gross train weight (GVW) of up to 12.05 metric tons.

The Palfinger roll-off tipper has an automatic sequence control designed for easy operation, Daimler said.

Mercedes-Benz Variety

Mercedes-Benz Trucks will showcase more than 40 vehicles across a range of application solutions at Bauma, both in its own booth and at those of various body manufacturers.

The new battery electric (BE) eArocs 400 truck will make its debut at Bauma, Daimler said. Mercedes-Benz will provide additional in-depth information about these new trucks at the show.

Also on display will be the special-edition Arocs Extent, which is set to go into production in July with a run of only 100 units. The truck is powered either by the third-generation Euro VI diesel engine OM 471 or the OM 473, the largest Euro VI diesel engine from Mercedes-Benz Trucks, Daimler said.

The Arocs Extent also features the Multimedia Cockpit Interactive 2, which Daimler said makes the truck more connected and optimized for daily construction site operation. The 12-inch instrument display and improved touchscreen are designed for intuitive operation, even on rough terrain. Additionally, voice control can activate many functions.

A new Favorites menu in the Multimedia Cockpit Interactive 2 allows direct access to construction-specific functions, such as power take-offs, Daimler said. The integration of the latest truck navigation system and route data with the Predictive Powertrain Control (PPC) system further optimizes driving.

Finally, the Remote Truck App 3.0 allows for remote management of key vehicle functions. It serves as the digital interface between the user and their Mercedes-Benz truck. The app allows operators to access important status information, such as the battery level and state of charge. It also allows for push notifications, Daimler said.

Mercedes-Benz is also debuting its new brand, TruckCharge. Tailored to the fleet requirements of BE commercial vehicles, Daimler Truck said it is bringing all its current and future e-infrastructure and charging solutions under this brand. TruckCharge is intended for fleet operators and those with truck fleets and can serve all BE vehicle fleets regardless of manufacturer.
